Quickly convert CMYK to Pantone in Illustrator
Pantone to CMYK is just easy, right?
You just select the Pantone color > Edit > Edit Colors > Convert to CMYK . Tada! You got your CMYK!
But how about the other way around? CMYK to Pantone?
Have your clients ever asked you: Do you know which pantone color is my logo? I think we have all gone through the stupid way: Opening your Color Book Palette in Illustrator, put it next to your CMYK colour, and try to associate the “right” Pantone colour with your eyes. Or, you will read the CMYK values on screen, and find the values in your Pantone book.
But, you can convert CMYK to Pantone as easy as the above!
You just select the CMYK color > Edit > Edit Colors > Recolor Artwork
Once the panel opens, you click on the icon next to the HSB color bars to Limit the color group to colors in the swatch library and select Color Books > Whatever color books you want to use. In our case, we will use Pantone Solid Coated.
And then click OK. Then the Pantone Color will appear in your Swatches Palette
Voila! Hope you enjoyed this tip!
